These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of this website and to any programme, course, masterclass or other service you book with, or buy from, the Institute of Behavioural Strategy & Leadership (“IBSL”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Please read them carefully. By using this website, submitting an application or paying for a programme, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Who we are
Institute of Behavioural Strategy & Leadership is based in Morningside, Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. You can contact us by email at info@ibsleadership.com
2. Our programmes and services
IBSL provides capability-development programmes for leaders, leadership teams and organisations, including the Certified Enterprise Strategy Integrator (CESI) credential, Organiastional Retreats and open market masterclasses, and AI capability programmes.
The descriptions on this website are a general guide. The dates, format, venue, content and fees that apply to your booking are those set out in your confirmation, invoice or proposal. Where IBSL delivers a programme for an organisation under a signed proposal or agreement, that document applies and takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.
3. Applications and acceptance
- Submitting an application, nomination or enquiry does not guarantee you a place. Places are subject to eligibility, selection where applicable, and availability.
- A binding agreement is formed when we confirm your place in writing and we receive your payment, or a corporate purchase order or signed agreement where we have agreed to invoice your organisation.
- You must give us accurate and complete information. We may withdraw an offer that was made on the basis of information that turns out to be inaccurate.
4. Fees and payment
- Fees are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
- Fees are payable in full by the due date on your invoice and, unless agreed otherwise in writing, before the programme starts. Your place is secured once payment is received.
- Online card and instant EFT payments are processed securely by Payfast, a registered South African payment gateway. You enter your card details on Payfast’s secure pages; IBSL never sees or stores your full card details.
- Where we have agreed to invoice your organisation, payment is due within the period stated on the invoice. We may decline access to a programme while an invoice remains unpaid.
- Any instalment or payment plan applies only if we have agreed it with you in writing.
5. Delivery of services
Our programmes are services, not physical goods, so nothing is shipped to you. Programmes are delivered in person at the venue stated in your confirmation, online, or in a blend of both. We send joining instructions, schedules and access details to the email address you gave us before the programme starts. Course materials are provided digitally or at the sessions.
Where a programme leads to a credential, such as CESI, the credential is awarded only when you meet its attendance and assessment requirements. Paying the programme fee does not by itself entitle you to the credential.
6. Changes to a programme
We may need to change a programme’s dates, venue, facilitators or format, for example for reasons beyond our control or to maintain the quality of the programme. We will tell you as soon as reasonably possible. If a change is material and you no longer wish to attend, you may cancel and receive a full refund, as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations, transfers, substitutions and refunds are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Participant conduct
We ask participants to treat facilitators and fellow participants with respect, and to keep confidential any information that other participants or organisations share during a programme. We may remove a participant whose conduct seriously disrupts a programme; in that case no refund is due.
9. Intellectual property
All programme materials, tools, frameworks and content on this website, including the Strategy2Results® methodology, belong to IBSL or its licensors. You may use the materials you receive for your own learning and for your organisation’s internal use. You may not copy, record, resell, publish or distribute them, or use them to deliver training to others, without our prior written consent.
10. Use of this website
You agree not to misuse this website, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to it, interfering with its operation or submitting false information through its forms. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Limitation of liability
Our programmes build capability, but the results you or your organisation achieve depend on many factors outside our control, so we cannot guarantee specific business outcomes. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a programme is limited to the fees you paid for that programme, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or travel and accommodation costs.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other law that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
12. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay in delivering a programme that is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, extended power or network outages, public-health restrictions, civil unrest or government action. Where this happens, we will offer you a new date or a refund in line with our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
13. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before taking formal action, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter with you.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page, with the date shown at the top, applies to any booking made after that date. Bookings already confirmed remain subject to the terms in force when they were made.
16. Contact us
